We interviewed Michael, one of our residents at Branksome Park Care Centre, hear about his experience with us.
Here is what Michael had to say about Branksome Park:
I’m Michael Hurst. In fact, I’ve been here now 10 months, probably the most enjoyable 10 months I’ve had since my accident, which was 17 years ago.
How do you find the standard of care at Branksome Park Care Centre?
To be absolutely honest, it’s good. There’s no doubt about it. The rapport between the carers, nurses, and the management team is tremendous. I get all the help I want when I want, and that’s the main thing. I can communicate extremely well with all the staff. But I enjoy life here, that’s the main thing I think I’d like to emphasise. It’s a good, friendly team, and help is always there 24 hours a day if ever I need it.
What would you say to someone looking to come to Branksome Park Care Centre?
Don’t be put off, please don’t be put off by the patients that are already here. They’re all friendly. We’re all in different conditions. I’m fortunate enough to be probably more mobile than most of them, and I can actually talk and communicate probably more than most of them. But altogether, we get on as a good team of patients and enjoy life here. There are other things they can do. There is a religious club, there’s a book club, there’s now a jigsaw club, a cooking club, so that everything is right for anybody coming. It’s well worth a visit to come to Branksome Park to come and see the facilities available.
