New Family Support and Bereavement Suite Opens at Kingsman House, LuxuryCare Bournemouth

Kingsman House, one of six care homes operated by LuxuryCare in Bournemouth and Poole, has officially opened its new Family Support and Bereavement Suite.

In a partnership with Lewis-Manning Hospice Care, this new facility on Branksome Wood Road, Bournemouth, will offer vital counselling and support services to families in the local community.

The suite, which consists of four beautifully renovated rooms, including three counselling spaces and a lounge, will be used by Lewis-Manning Hospice Care’s team and volunteers to provide individual and group counselling sessions. The official opening took place on Monday, 16th September, with distinguished guests in attendance, including the Mayor of Bournemouth, Cllr George Farquhar, alongside hospice supporters, staff, and volunteers.

Jo Sharkey, Family Support and Bereavement Lead at Lewis-Manning Hospice Care, shared an overview of the crucial work her team performs, helping families navigate difficult times. The new space will allow them to expand these services across Bournemouth, providing comfort and professional support to even more families.

Samantha Hoskins, Operations Director at LuxuryCare, expressed pride in supporting this community initiative. “We are delighted to partner with Lewis-Manning Hospice Care. Their extraordinary commitment to providing care in our local community aligns with our values at LuxuryCare, and we are honoured to contribute to such an essential service.”

The event, which also featured a tour of the new facility, concluded with tea and cake, giving attendees the chance to meet the Family Support and Bereavement team and reflect on the positive impact this new suite will have on the community.

Clare Gallie, CEO of Lewis-Manning Hospice Care, also praised the partnership. “This facility allows us to offer much-needed counselling in a comfortable, intimate setting. We are incredibly grateful to LuxuryCare for providing this space, and we look forward to working closely with them as we continue to support local families.”

As a leading operator of care homes in the region, LuxuryCare is dedicated to enhancing the well-being of its residents and the wider community. In addition to its extensive range of residential, dementia, nursing, and palliative care services, the organisation continues to support local initiatives that provide crucial services beyond the walls of their homes.
